Everything was great. I can be particular about Spanish food and am often disappointed, but Urdaneta was great. The lamb dish and dessert were my favorites - don't skip the basque cheesecake! Croquetas and pan de tamate were also quite tasty - good starters! Our server was nice and good with recommendations. Lovely little wine selection.

Urdaneta is Portland's hidden gem for tapas. The food and service were top notch. We let the server select our tapas and the paring of drinks. We loved everything that was made. For someone that has tapas in Spain, Urdaneta looks, feels and provides the same experience.

Living up to the hype as a former Eater PDX editor's favorite, Urdaneta delivered an exceptional dining experience. The service was impeccable from start to finish, with a friendly and attentive staff. The food was truly outstanding. Every dish was a flavor-packed delight, showcasing both Spanish or Basque cuisine and inventive PDX twists. The complimentary marinated olives were a welcome appetizer, and I highly recommend trusting your server's recommendations. Don't miss out on the Basque cheesecake for a perfect ending to your meal. While the menu is seasonally driven, the consistent quality of the food and service makes Urdaneta a must-visit for any food lover visiting Portland.

Dreaming of Tapas @urdanetapdx 3033 NE Alberta St, Portland, OR * One of my all time favorite cuisines is Spanish tapas and for a while I hadn't found a place that came close to the mom and pop small business I went to that sadly closed due to the pandemic. Sam had never had tapas before and so I decided to book @urdanetapdx for his birthday. And let me tell you, we LOVED every single bite, sip, and dish (peep his typical reaction to everything in the last clip ). @urdanetapdx easily has become a restaurant we HAVE to come to whenever we visit Portland! * The menu itself changes based on season, availability, and daily creativity of chef and his staff. Here's what we got the night we went: Pintxos: Tarta de Champion Morcilla Foie Gras Bomba Tapas Primeros: Croquettas Sunchoke Arugadas Tapas Segundos: Pulpo a La Brasa Maitake Al Ajillo Pez Espada Posters: Pear Tres Leches * Every single dish was AMAZING but if we had to pick our top 3, it would be morcilla, sunchoke arugadas, and pulpo a la brasa (croquetas as Sam's fourth fav and the foie gras bomba or pez espadas as my fourth fav). The morcilla is their famed blood sausage that has a deep flavor with a smooth texture that resembles a pate rather than a typical blood sausage - so addicting that we wish we ordered one for each of us rather than having to share . The sunchoke arugadas was crispy but not overly heavily with a creamy and green fresh flavor to balance out the fried. The pulpo a la brasa is also one of their most popular - tender grilled octopus with a creamy, salty, and savory cheese potato bliss . * Aside from the food, I can't rave enough about the atmosphere and the staff. They seated us at the chefs table and provided us with to friendly recommendations. We got to speak with the chefs while they were cooking and the staff came to check in on us multiple times. They even gave a complementary welcome sparkling wine and a dessert shot to go with Sam's cake and candle . Truly so thoughtful and really making you feel welcome and loved! * 100% recommend to anyone for a special occasion or a treat yourself meal! We love you @urdanetapdx .
